SUMMARY:Exhibition Foyer: Álla Sinkevich
DESCRIPTION:The Softness We Seek\n14 Feb. – 14 Mar. 2025 \nThe Softness We Seek is a project focused on the materiality of wool and its cultural significance\, tactile qualities\, and sustainable origins. In the project\, Álla Sinkevich explores wet felting as a medium with untapped potential for contemporary architectural design and human interaction. \nThe body of work explores the intersection of art and design\, emphasizing intimacy and connection\, qualities often tied to traditional craft. It proposes softness as a guiding design principle in built environments\, reshaping our relationship with space itself. The sculptures highlight the transformative potential of natural fibers\, advocating for environments that prioritize sensory richness\, warmth\, and material connection. \nDuring a residency at the Danish Art Workshops\, Sinkevich experimented with various layering techniques and fiber orientations to explore how these approaches affect the texture\, strength\, and overall appearance of the felted material. These tests are essential for determining the best method to achieve the desired qualities in the final work. By closely observing the patterns\, density\, and surface details in the fibers\, insights are gained into how these elements can be manipulated in future works. The collection of fibers includes a range of textures and colors\, which are explored and tested in the samples. \nThese materials and techniques serve as the foundation for ongoing experimentation\, offering insights into how different fibers interact. \nOpening: 14 Feb. 2025 from 3pm – 5pm. Strandgade 27B\, Christianshavn. \nThe project is partially financed by the Danish Arts Foundation. \nAbout the Artist\nÁlla Sinkevich is a Ukraine-born artist\, designer\, and maker based in Copenhagen. She studied biology prior to moving to Ireland\, where she gained a BA in Fashion Design from The National College of Art and Design\, Dublin in 2018. Graduated with MA in Art & Design from The Royal Danish Academy in 2021. \nÁlla’s work falls between Art and Design\, with a strong focus on circularity and utilizing natural biodegradable materials. The most current practice is centered around local wool and pairing the heritage wet felting technique with a sculptural approach.

SUMMARY:Exhibition Foyer: Pedro Boese
DESCRIPTION:parallel\n21 March – 27 April 2025 \nIn the graphic print series parallel\, Pedro Boese follows the idea of interpreting a printed work as an object\, as a unity of motive\, paper and frame. He explores the relationship between the print’s visual space\, the space around it and the space between each individual work. What drives him the most\, is the potential of colour\, its different qualities and its ability to change with interaction. \nIn his painting and prints\, Pedro Boese deals with the geometric form\, the color and the background\, the structure of which becomes visible through omissions and removal of color. This interaction creates a tension between the integrity of the work and its dissolution. \nThe graphic workshop at SVfK enabled Boese to print in larger formats than usual and thus he has been able to achieve a more complex composition. \nOpening: 21 March from 3pm-5pm in Strandgade 27B\, Christianshavn.  \nAbout the artist\nPedro Boese studied visual arts at the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts\, Netherlands and continued his studies at the Institute for Art in Context at the UdK Berlin. Since 2019 he is a lecturer at the workshop for intaglio printing at the Art Academy Weissensee Berlin. \nThe primary media he works with is painting and intaglio. Lately Boese combines etching with relief print.
