DESCRIPTION:Digitale transformationer i ler \n9. februar – 8. marts 2024 \nFlemming Tvede Hansens forskning handler om samspillet mellem håndens evne til at udtrykke sig kunstnerisk og de digitale teknologiers muligheder for at transformere håndens udtryk. \nUdstillingen\, Robot\, Wire and Clay\, viser resultaterne af en række eksperimenter med robotteknologi\, som gennemskærer en klump ler med en skæretråd. Resultatet er en fysisk repræsentation af hændernes bevægelse i ler\, der\, for det første indebærer en transformation i skala\, og for det andet\, tilføjer geometriske detaljer\, baseret på hændernes bevægelseshastighed. \nEn skæretråd er et af keramikerens mest basale redskaber – et stykke ståltråd\, som primært benyttes til deling af en lerklump. Alt efter hvordan hænderne bevæges\, efterlader skæretråden mønstre og kurveforløb i leret. Hændernes bevægelsesmønstre afspejler det enkelte menneske og er unikt. Men hvordan kan denne personlige måde\, hvorpå vi udfører en bevægelse i forskellige hastigheder\, transformeres ved hjælp af en robot? Og hvad sker der\, når denne enkle handling transformeres med meget større kraft og rækkevidde? \nMed en Kinect* har Flemming Tvede Hansen optaget sine hænders 3D positioner i bevægelser\, der simulerer\, at en klump ler opdeles med en skæretråd. Ved hjælp af 3D software omsættes hændernes bevægelse\, så forskelle i hastighed kan ses som mindre kurveforløb. Jo langsommere hænderne har bevæget sig under optagelsen\, des flere kurver er blevet tilføjet og omvendt. Til sidst udfører robotarmen en gennemskæring\, baseret på 3D optagelsen. \n  \nFlemming Tvede Hansen arbejder som lektor på Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi i København. Hans praksisbaserede forskning omfatter eksperimentel 3D-formgivning gennem programmering af responderende digitale systemer. Derudover inkluderer han den anvendelse af digitale fremstillingsteknikker\, som fx robotteknologi og 3D-print i ler kan mønstre\, med fokus på betydningen af materialeegenskaber i designprocessen. \n*En Kinect er et redskab\, der er udviklet af Microsoft til computerspil. Den kan aflæse 3D-positioner og bruges til at udføre realtids-gestusgenkendelse. \nFernisering 9. februar kl. 15.00-17.00 i Strandgade 27B\, 1401 Christianshavn.  \n– \nRobot\, Wire and Clay – Digital Transformations in Clay\n9 February – 8 March 2024 \nFlemming Tvede Hansen’s research is about the interaction between the artistic expression of hands and the possibilities of digital technologies to transform these expressions. \nThe exhibition\, Robot\, Wire and Clay\, shows the results of a series of experiments with robotic technology\, cutting through a lump of clay with a wire. The outcome of these experiments is a physical representation of hand movements in clay that involves\, firstly\, a transformation in scale\, and secondly\, the addition of geometric details based on the speed of hand movements. \nA cutting wire is one of the ceramist’s most basic tools\, consisting of a steel wire primarily used for dividing a lump of clay. Depending on how the hands move\, the cutting wire leaves patterns and curves in the clay. The patterns of hand movement reflect the individual and are therefore unique. However\, how can this personal way of performing a movement at varying speed be transformed by a robot? And what happens when this simple action is transformed with much greater force and range? \nUsing a Kinect*\, Flemming Tvede has 3D recorded the 3D positions of the hands in movements simulating the division of a lump of clay with a cutting wire. With the help of 3D software\, hand movements are translated so that differences in speed are converted into smaller curve paths. The slower the hands moved during the recording\, the more curves have been added\, and vice versa. Finally\, the robot arm\, equipped with a cutting wire as a tool\, performs a cut through a lump of clay based on the 3D recording with the added curve paths. \nFlemming Tvede Hansen works as an associate professor at The Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. His practice-based research includes experimental 3D shaping through programming responsive digital systems. Additionally\, it involves the use of digital manufacturing techniques such as robotics and 3D printing in clay\, with a focus on the importance of material properties in the design process. \n*A Kinect is a tool developed by Microsoft for computer games that reads 3D positions and can be used for real-time gesture recognition. \nExhibition opening\, 9 February at 3pm – 5pm in Strandgade 27B\, 1401 Christianshavn.

SUMMARY:Exhibition Foyer: Camilla Thuv
DESCRIPTION:Organic Connections\n15 March – 12 April 2024 \nCamilla Thuv works in an abstract form and draws her inspiration from nature and the organic. With an intuitive\, aesthetic and non-figurative approach she explores how color\, texture and negative space can be manipulated to produce enigmatic and suggestive compositions. She experiments with different printing techniques on a wide range of media such as wood\, textile\, metal and paper. In recent years\, she has had a particular focus on screen printing. \nIn her search for the abstract in the figurative world\, Thuv finds lines and shapes by\, for instance studying a photograph that has a special meaning for her. Like a picture of the northern Norwegian nature she grew up in\, or an old diagram she inherited. She takes seemingly insignificant lines and shapes out of their original context and gives them meaning in an abstract composite universe. \nThuv is interested in our connection to nature and especially the conditions we face in the encounter with it. She plays with the illusion of our interaction with our surroundings and seeks to create calm\, harmony and balance in an otherwise chaotic and changing world. \nThe three exhibited works in Foyer were produced at the Danish Art Workshops in the summer of 2023. They were part of the exhibition Organic Connections in Kopervik Kulturhus in Norway\, September 2023. \nExhibition Opening on 15 March at 3pm-5pm.\nAddress: Strandgade 27B\, 1401 Copenhagen. \n– \nCamilla Thuv was born and raised in Lofoten in Norway. She has an education as a designer from Copenhagen\, where she currently lives and works as a visual artist.
