DESCRIPTION:On Material Knowledge\nJoin us on 19 June 2025 at 11:30am for a talk about material understanding. The two material based artists\, Margrethe Odgaard and Sara Martinsen\, will address the issue of the continuously long distance between manufacturers and consumers. This makes it increasingly difficult to maintain a strong material knowledge\, and therefore they wish to emphasize the importance of local production and responsible behavior. \nTextile and colour Designer Margrethe Odgaard approach colour as a rich sensory experience.\nBy immersing herself in the interplay of colour\, material\, and light\, she seeks a deeper understanding of how we experience and emotionally connect with our surroundings. \nSara Martinsen creates edition pieces from bio-based materials. Aside from investigating materials and their potential\, she advises companies on responsible solutions. Her commitment to natural materials shows in her arrangement of them\, where each of their specific characteristics comes at play. \nBoth Odgaard and Martinsen believe in the beauty of natural responsible materials\, in craft and in the power of a strong visual story.
